Ford's 2020 Escape comes standard with Ford SYNC and a 4.2-inch display. Also included are a USB port and a six-speaker audio system. Optional features include navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch touch screen, satellite radio, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. 

If you upgrade to the SE model, you get the SYNC 3 infotainment system with an intuitive interface and a responsive touch screen display. All of these functions are within easy reach of the driver's seat.

Performance and Fuel Economy
The Escape's standard engine is a turbocharged 180-hp three-cylinder EcoBoost. A 250-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine is also available. Both engines accelerate quickly and are idea for day-to-day driving. If you're looking for a more energetic drive, the turbocharged engine is the way to go.

The base engine gets 27 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, which is better than most of its peers. The four-cylinder engine with all-wheel-drive gets 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. 

Safety Ratings and Features
The Escape received an overall safety rating of five out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration-five in the frontal and side crash tests and four in the rollover test. It was the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick, earning "Good" in all six crash tests.

Trim Levels
The 2020 Escape is offered in four trim levels, including S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. The SE trim offers the most value in terms of standard features. Let's break each trim down in detail:

2020 Ford Escape S
The S trim level comes with the 180-hp three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine, front-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can upgrade this trim to an all-wheel-drive if desired. Standard features include MyKey, cloth upholstery, SYNC, a USB port, a six-speaker audio system, and a 4.2-inch display.

Several standard driver assistance features include rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, curve control, driver drowsiness monitoring, lane keep assist, and forward-collision warning. Other standard features include a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, and pedestrian detection.

The SE comes with all standard features on the S model but adds heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, and the SYNC 3 infotainment system. The infotainment system includes satellite radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an 8-inch touch screen. 

Available upgrades include AWD, a panoramic moonroof, and Ford's Co-Pilot360 Assist, which offers navigation and adaptive cruise control.

The SEL includes the lower trims' standard features and adds synthetic leather upholstery, a hands-free power liftgate, rear parking sensors, and a heated steering wheel. If you want more power, upgrade to the 250-hp four-cylinder EcoBoost engine and AWD. 

The Titanium is the top-of-the-line Escape trim and comes standard with a 198-hp hybrid powertrain and continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Standard features on this trim level include genuine leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation, and a power-adjustable passenger seat. Also included are a 10-speaker B&O speaker system, lane centering assist, adaptive cruise control, parallel and perpendicular park assist, and evasive steering assist.

With the Titanium Premium package, you can add a panoramic moonroof and head-up display. You can also add the moonroof separately.
