The New 2021 Ford F-150

Huge technology updates make the new 2021 Ford F-150 the most advanced truck on the market. The Ford F-series vehicles have been the best-selling trucks in America for over 40 years, so Ford doesn't have to do much to improve on this already loved vehicle. However, they've outdone themselves in 2021 by turning your grandfather's truck into a capable, fully-integrated machine.

The new F-150 feels modern thanks to enhanced styling, a state-of-the-art infotainment package, new powertrains, and all-new productivity features. If you're wondering why the 2021 Ford F-150 might be the best truck ever, keep reading to learn more.

2021 Ford F-150 Changes
While the 2021 F-150 looks similar to its predecessor, it has a whole new personality thanks to a more modern exterior. Now, the truck has a distinctive stepped beltline, increasing forward visibility and making us reminisce on the F-150s of old. Overall, the body of the truck is less cluttered and smoother than previous models.

On the inside, Ford introduces a rounder center console and all-new door panels. The interior door handles now have larger cutouts which are perfect for gloved hands.

Unprecedented Capability
When choosing a powertrain for the Ford F-150, there are six options, including:
290-horsepower V6 (base)
325-horsepower twin-turbo EcoBoost V6
400-horsepower EcoBoost V6
400-horsepower V8
250-horsepower turbo

There is also the new F-150 hybrid available, which features the larger EcoBoost V6 and an electric motor. This combination has a total output of 430 horses. If you use the F-150 mainly for commuting, the EcoBoost V6 is the best choice. However, if this is your work truck, you should opt for one of the diesel or V8 engines.

Unmatched Comfort and Space
The 2021 Ford F-150 offers 43.9 inches of front legroom and 43.6 inches of rear legroom, beating most vehicles in its class. It also provides ample headroom shoulder room in the front and rear. Each model offers plenty of room for adult passengers-with room to spare.

In models with bucket seats, the front armrest cover splits in two. The hinge enables the top half to flip forward and create a flat work surface. If you don't work in your truck much, you can opt for the Max Recline bucket seats that lay nearly flat.

Impressive Technology
Thanks to modern technology, the 2021 Ford F-150 interior feels more futuristic than ever. It comes with an 8-in touch screen display, Ford SYNC 4 infotainment technology, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

If that's not enough, there's an optional 12.3-in display with navigation and wireless smartphone connectivity. This display is easy to operate while in-motion with crisp graphics and simple menus. Other available features include a moonroof, push-button start, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and power windows and door locks.

Safely Built
The new F-150 comes standard with a slew of safety features, including a rearview camera, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and forward automatic emergency braking.
There are many options available, including blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, a surround-view parking camera system, evasive steering assist feature, and more.

At this time, the only safety test performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety was the roof strength test. The 2021 F-150 scored the highest score of "Good".

2021 Ford F-150 Lineup
The available configurations of the 2021 F-150 are endless, with seven trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and Tremor, the newest trim. If you can afford to spend a little more on luxury, the Lariat is the best value. It offers just enough convenience and comfort features than the lower models.

The XL is the F-150's base model. But don't let the word "base" fool you, as it comes equipped with several impressive features such as an 8-in touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and a rearview camera.

The standard configuration for this trim is the Regular Cab with a 6.5-ft bed. You can also opt for a longer 8-ft bed.

Next in the lineup is the XLT, which adds power windows and door locks, blind-spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, and cross-traffic alert. The XTL is available in the same configurations as the XL. It's also the highest trim level available with Ford's Regular Cab.

The Lariat kicks up the truck's luxury factor with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, push-button start, and remote start. A 12-in touch screen, a 12-in digital gauge cluster, and BoxLink adjustable tie-down cleats are also standard. The Lariat comes standard with the SuperCab and middle bed length, but you can choose any bed length.

The King Ranch adds an in-bed power outlet, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, front parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control. There's also wireless device charging, a Bang & Olufsen speaker system, HD radio, and intersection assist.

This model and higher only come with the SuperCrew cab. The shortest bed length is standard, but the 6.5-ft bed is available as an upgrade.

The Platinum comes standard with the short bed, but the 6.5-ft bed is an option. Standard features include massaging front seats, power-deployable running boards, and traffic sign recognition.

The Limited is at the top of the truck's range and includes a power tailgate with a deployable step, trailer backup assist, trailer reverse guidance, and a surround-view parking camera system. This model also comes with a moonroof, an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen system, and a perpendicular park assist.

The Tremor is the newest F-150 trim level, and some like to refer to it as the Raptor lite. It's the most capable off-road trim, offering standard features such as 33-in all-terrain tires, an upgraded suspension, and hill descent control.

Several other features will be available in the future, such as trail control, trail turn assist, and one-pedal drive, making rock crawling easier.
